1755 Quake
1755 Quake
Despite being overdue for a catastrophic earthquake (seriously, google it),
Lisbon residents and tourists are shockingly unprepared.
To raise awareness and give people the basic educational tools to save their lives,
we created 1755 Quake, the world’s first variable typeface that reflects seismic activity.
Each character behaves like a building, scaling not in weight but in Richter, fracturing in the same way as a building to show how structures react to seismic stress.
Brought to life through print and social campaigns, this typography uses the
destruction of the past to educate and protect people in the present.
Check it out here.
